My Current Favorite Eyeshadow Palettes

Today, I’m going to show a few of my favorite eyeshadow palettes. These are my go to’s and most used whether I’m going for a natural look or a more glam look. If you want to see what palettes I use then keep reading!

1.Juvia’s Place Douce Eyeshadow Palette ($21)

I am in love with this palette! I’m still working on incorporating more color in my eyeshadow looks, so I haven’t used all the colors, but when I tell you that chocolate brown is everything I mean it! I go to it for every look. This palette to me screams SPRING with its shimmer green and pinks. I also have the Masquerade palette from Juvia’s place, but I gravitate towards this palette a lot more lately.

2. Colourpop’s  I Think I love You Palette ($16)

This is my absolute go to for a lot of makeup looks. I’m one who uses a lot of browns or golds in my looks and this palette is the one that gets the job done! I’ve used almost every color in this palette. Highly recommend if you’re one who likes more neutral/natural looking eyeshadow.

3. Bh Cosmetics Take Me Back To Brazil Palette ($18)

This is the most colorful palette in my makeup collection! I’m still trying to work with colors so I haven’t used many of the colors, but I have used the purples and pinks. When I say pigment…I mean PIGMENT! This shadow is amazingly pigmented and lasts longer than any eyeshadow that I have seen. When I’m trying to do a purple smokey eye or purple/pink ombre look I grab this palette always. If you’re a color lover then this will be your fave palette!

Of course I didn’t show all of the palettes that I have, but I showed the ones I tend to gravitate to the most depending on what looks I do.

Have you tried any of these palettes? What’s your go to eyeshadow palette?

My Pamper Routine 2018

Everyone needs a little pampering. Even the fellas need it once in a while, so don’t stray away just because you see this title. Today will be a quick little post on what I like to do to pamper myself and relax If you’d like to find out how then keep reading!

Something as simple as showering can make for a nice pamper session. I love to take a nice hot shower with some music playing. Nothing says therapy than singing to your favorite tunes in a steamy shower.

Not everyone likes to shave, and that’s ok. Our pampering routines will look different. This is just what I like to do sometimes. I love the feel of smooth skin. Shaving is a tedious task, but how I feel afterwards make it a task that’s worth dealing with. I always feel so good when I rub my hands against my soft skin.

3..Put on a cozy robe

Next on my pampering day, I love to put on my special fuzzy owl robe. This may seem dumb to some, but having a special robe you use for pampering days, whether it’s a fuzzy animal robe or a sexy silk robe, may make you feel good. Especially after your nice shower.

4.Face mask

After my nice hot shower and putting on my favorite robe, I love to try to do a face mask. The mask that I always use is the Aztec Healing Clay Mask. I put that on and let it sit for about 15min. Then I rinse it off and go after it with my African Black Soap and my spinning face brush. Afterwards my face feels so nice and refreshed.

After all of that, it’s nice to just moisturize your body. I go between my African Shea Butter and coco butter lotion. Makes my skin feel so nice and smooth.

These are some things that I either do every other week, every two weeks, or just when I feel like it. Sometimes I may paint my nails. Having nice finger nails and toe nails can make anyone feel good. I’m a bit lazy I can admit so I don’t always feel like doing this step, but when I do I always have a feeling of completion.

The other step is washing my hair. My wash days are usually either every other week or every two weeks. On wash days, I make sure to wash my hair first before doing all these other steps. Sometimes I just wash it while I shower. It feels good to have fresh hair. Especially when it’s been under my wigs or has build up from other products from styling.

Being in school still, it can be hard to make time for myself because of all the work I have to do. I know others can relate with school or work. Maybe you’re a woman with a career and family who put others before yourself. Maybe you’re a man who works hard to provide for the family. Whatever the case may be it’s important to take time for yourself. You deserve it!

My Current Drugstore Makeup Faves!

It’s been a while since I’ve done a beauty post, but what’s better than one that helps you get some good products for a cheaper price!? Today I’m going to give you just a few of my favorite drugstore products that I love to grab. All products mentioned are from Walmart, but I am in no way sponsored.

Black Radiance Pressed Powder-$4.74

I love this powder! Shown in the picture is the shade Ebony. I usually go between Ebony and Black Coffee (depending on what’s in supply at the store but they both work). I use this powder in two different ways. The first way is to set my foundation. The second way I love to use it is for when I do my no makeup, makeup look. When I don’t want to wear foundation, I just put this powder all over my face instead. It blends in great and is perfect for the summertime especially.

Covergirl Queen Collection 3-in-1 Foundation-Pricing varies

Depending on what kind, the price of the foundation ranges, I would say about $8-15. The shade that I’m in is True Ebony. I don’t really wear this foundation anymore, but before I switched it was my ultimate go to. The reason why I don’t wear the foundation anymore is just because I wasn’t fond of the oxidation and I needed something more matte for my oily skin. So, if you do want to give it a try just beware of that. But at the end of the day, I would still grab it today if need be.

L’oreal Miss Manga Mascara-$6 to $10

This product is an absolute fave! I love how it makes my lashes look and the length it provides. I honestly have maybe tried one other mascara from Walmart before this one, but after trying this one I never looked back. Highly recommend if you want your natural lashes looking nice for a good price

Wet N Wild Megaliner Liquid Liner-$2.93

For just $3 this liquid liner can give you a wing that can cut your enemies! I love the small brush because it helps me get more control. I believe there’s a waterproof version, but even the non-waterproof one does pretty decent for the most part I’d say. If you’re looking for cheap eyeliner options, I’d highly recommend this one.

Maybelline Color Senational Lipsticks-$5 to $8

From Shades that match your skin tone to the brightest and most vibrant, this brand comes in so many shades! The only complaint I have is not knowing which to choose! These lipsticks are a creamy matte which causes them not be so dry like matte lipsticks tend to be. A forever favorite.

There you have it…a full face on a budget! Who says you have to spend big bucks to slay!?

Have you tried any of these products? What’s your current drugstore fave?

Colourpop Foundation….Hit Or Miss?

Are you Ready for this? I’ve waited to do this review in order to make sure I’m 100% sure I feel the way I do about it. So, here we go!

As far as price goes, I love it! $12 is an amazing deal! You definitely can’t beat that. If nothing else gets you I’m sure the price will.

Next up let’s talk about the shades. The shades are of a good variety I will say. I do have a shading issue though. I typically wear Fenty Foundation in the shade 480. Colourpop’s shade finder matches you in comparison to the shade you wear in other brands. I entered my Fenty shade, and the shade that was chosen for me was their Deep Dark in 210.

1531677335595                        1531677289628

This shade is nice, but it doesn’t match to me exactly like the Fenty does. There’s something about the tint or maybe undertone. Maybe I need a shade darker…who knows, but as far as that aspect I’m not 100% pleased. This, however, won’t stop me from using it on a casual day when I want to wear foundation but not use the high priced good stuff.

The coverage on this foundation is really good I must say. You don’t need a whole lot to get good coverage, which allows the product to last longer.

Lastly is how is well….how well it lasts. I’ve tested it out and have worn it a full day multiple times. If you’re not doing too much that day then it really stays on. I have yet to test it out on a day I have fully sweated all over my face like I have done with Fenty, So I can’t provide much info there. I will say the little areas I have sweated (because I’m for sure a sweater) it has stayed pretty decently.

Overall Grade: 7/10

My Current Natural Hair Routine + Product Reviews!

Hey everyone, I’m back with another natural hair post. Last week I talked about my journey to loving my natural hair. This week I’m going to give you my basic hair routine for when it’s wash day. Like I’ve said in my last hair post, I’m a pretty lazy natural (I know, I know…shame on me) so I like things to be pretty simple. Especially when wash day takes forreeever! If you want to know my simple routine and find out how I feel about the products I’m currently using then keep reading!

The First step of course is to detangle the mess that is my hair. This is like a workout within itself. What I’ve recently been doing as well is parting my hair in the middle and just doing steps separately on each side. It can be a little more time consuming, but helps make sure your hair doesn’t get too tangled during your hair washing process.

After detangling my hair, I wash my hair. The shampoo I use to wash my hair is the Shea Moisture curl and shine shampoo. If I have my hair parted then I do each side separately. At the least, I go through twice with the shampoo. I wash my hair first from root to end and then I go in a second time just focusing on my scalp.

After I finish washing my hair, I try to put a hair mask on. I use the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay mask. To make the mask I just use equal parts clay and Apple Cider Vinegar. I typically leave that on for about 15min before washing it out. Then, I condition my hair with the OGX Coconut Milk Conditioner. This really helps get out the vinegar smell as well.

My last step once I’m done is to oil my scalp with some Jamaican Castor Oil. If I’m going out that same day and I want to add a little more curl to my hair, I’ll add some of the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. Sometimes I air dry my hair and sometimes I dry my hair using a curl diffuser with the hair dryer on cool. Then I’m done!

  1. Shea Moisture

Shea Moisture is the first brand I started using when I decided to stop using heat on my hair. Before my hair started to really form curls on its on (with my heat damage I barely had much of a curl pattern) I religiously used this curling enhancing cream. It gives my hair amazing curls and it lasts for a good while. It makes your hair smell really good as well! I’ve just recently started using the curl and shine shampoo for a few months now and I’m very satisfied. I see a difference in my curls and it smells good. I even feel like from the first day I used it I saw a difference (it could just be me) but with consistent use it definitely helps your curls. 10/10 would recommend these Shea Moisture Products!

2. Aztec Healing Clay

This isn’t a skin care routine post, but before I begin I have to say how amazing this is as a face mask. Now, moving on to the hair review part. I just started to use this product on my hair a few months ago. If you want to give your hair a fresh start, then I feel like this product is great to use. Can I 100% judge on if this product has had a hand in helping out my curl pattern? I believe it has, but I’d give it a few more months before I give you guys a complete review. But I do recommend the product. A little goes a long way. It lasts for a long time and it can be used for multiple different things.

3. OGX Coconut Milk Conditioner

I pretty much discovered this product from my grandmother. Let me tell you, grandma did a good job. This conditioner makes my hair so soft it’s crazy! I just put it in my hair, let it sit for about 5min, rinse it out, and hair is soft and smooth. This is also another product that smells amazing which is good if you’re using it after the clay mask like I do.

What are your go to products for your routine? If you have any recommendations on products I should use I’d love to hear them!

My Journey To Loving My Natural Hair

If I’m being honest, I’ve been natural ever since 6th or 7th grade. I’m 23 now so you’d think that I would’ve had a lot of time to get used to and love my natural hair right? Well that’s where you’re sadly wrong. Growing up, I’ve always kept my hair straightened. I kept it straight so much that people assumed my hair was naturally straight. It’s cool if I just loved my hair like that and that was it, but it was deeper.

Around my middle school days, I really had a dislike for some of my black features. Mainly my dark skin complexion and yes my curly hair. The most I had seen my hair curly was when I sweated my hair out and when it got washed. I used to wish I had hair like Caucasians and would even get upset when people said I had white people’s hair. This wouldn’t be because someone compared my hair to a white persons hair, but because I didn’t have the hair they were comparing it to. I hated everything about it from the way it sweated out to the hair dents it easily gets from wearing a ponytail holder. Fast forward to high school and those thoughts began to subside, but now at this point, I’m used to my straight hair, it’s what I can work with, and I know I look good with it. During senior year I tried to wear it in its natural form, but it was so hard for me to work with. I hated it and because of heat damage I needed product to even get curls as an end result. Wearing my hair heatless was very rare in high school.

The older I got, the more I became in tuned with my blackness. I got so jealous of all these pictures of women with their bomb natural hair and curls and mine was just eh (this was just my thinking). So after I graduated, I made the step into going heatless and got braids for the first time ever. It has been maybe 2..possibly 3 years or almost three years now since I’ve had heat put on my hair. I’m still very lazy with my hair so as far as growth, there hasn’t been much progress, but it has finally begun to form a bit of a curl pattern. I can now go without product if I choose and I’m fine. I still have a long way to go with accepting my hair and I do wear wigs because again, I’m lazy, but I’ve come a long way.

My advice for adults with black kids or even just adults themselves…love your hair and teach your kids to love their natural hair. It’s fine if they want their hair straightened, kids like to switch it up just like adults do, but make sure they love their hair the way it is first. It’s so important, especially during this day and age.

Current Makeup Faves/ Most Used Products

It’s the post some of you ladies ( and some men too) have been waiting for…my first makeup post! To start off, I’m giving you a few of my mostly used/ favorite makeup products. I have more than what’s shown, but we’ll just start off with these for now.

2018-06-21-18-13-48-526 (1)

Fenty Beauty Foundation (shade 480): I don’t wear foundation every single day, but I do wear it often and the Fenty Beauty foundation by Rihanna is honestly amazing. It has amazing coverage and being someone who sweats pretty well when it’s hot, I can say that it still looks pretty good after dabbing my face a good amount of times. I am in the shade 480, and although it was a little questionable if it looks a little dark on me, it ends up looking amazing and matches my skin perfectly in pictures. Highly recommend.

Urban Decay Setting Spray: I’m one who mostly gets her makeup either online from decently priced makeup companies and from Walmart. But, I must say that although my wallet is cheap…my skin is not. I’ve tried cheap setting sprays and they just did not work, so I had to go a little more high-end(at least high end to me) and try Urban Decay. I have very oily skin so of course I tried the De-Slick Oil Control one. I do like this product. Does it work? mmm I’d say yes because my makeup does stay on but, and this is probably just my skin, I still end up getting pretty oily. But like I said, I do still like it and continue to use it but I’m always taking suggestions!

Wet n Wild Megaliner: This eye liner is AMAZING and it only cost maybe $2 (price check) at Walmart. I love the short brush that gives me more control, it stays on, and again…it’s cheap! If you’re looking for a good cheap liquid eyeliner then this is the one for you!

Colourpop Concealer(shade rich 75): Last but not least is the Colourpop No Filter Concealer. I LOVE this concealer! This might be my most used product out of all of the ones shown besides the eyeliner. It’s amazing coverage, I don’t have problems with creasing like I did with other concealers, and it’s a good price ($6). Colourpop changed the name of their concealers so Rich 75 is now named Deep Dark 56. I highly recommend you give it a try. I might do a review on colourpop and some of their products as well so look out for that!

I hope this post was helpful to you guys! If you want prices on things or anything please let me know. Have a good day!
